If this is your first time submitting a bill, we ask that you please take a few minutes to read through this page to get a clear understanding of the steps involved. If you’ve already submitted in the past, feel free to move forward and complete the form below.
BEFORE continuing, double-check that your bill features a ‘B’ seal and is a $1 note.
Additionally, ensure that your bill is from the 2013 series. The serial number should start with a ‘B’ and end with a star symbol.
(see the image below)
The serial number (marked by the green rectangle above) needs to fall within one of these two specific ranges:
B00000001* – B00250000* OR B03200001* – B09600000*
If your serial number is outside these ranges, it does not qualify as an error note, meaning it wasn’t part of the duplicate printing.
The most frequent mistake in submitted notes information is related to the Face Plate Number. Please double check before submitting to make sure your information is correct. Make sure to include all the letters that appear before the number when entering the data.
If you spot an ‘FW’ before the number, your bill was printed in Fort Worth. If there is no ‘FW’, it was printed in Washington, DC.
Collectors often aim to create a ‘matching pair’ by acquiring the corresponding note from another owner. While these notes may not be worth much individually, their value can increase significantly when paired, potentially reaching $10,000 or more, depending on their condition and serial numbers. For instance, a note with a very low serial number (such as 00000001) would be worth considerably more than a note with a higher serial number (like 09563067).
To date, only around 20 matched pairs have been auctioned, so the full market value is still being established. As time goes on and more notes are removed from circulation, the rarity and value of a matched pair could increase.
Project 2013B 2.0 maintains a detailed database of serial numbers submitted by currency collectors and the general public. To protect privacy, email addresses are kept confidential. When both the Fort Worth and Washington versions of a serial number are submitted, the project administrator contacts both parties to inform them of a ‘matching pair.’

IF YOUR SUBMITTING A SERIAL NUMBER, AND THE SERIAL NUMBER STARTS WITH ANY NUMBER OTHER THAN A ZERO, IT WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY DELETED, BECAUSE IT DOESNT QUALIFY AS A 2013B DUPLICATE. ITS NOT IN THE CORRECT RANGE.
